The Secret Origin of Wild Dog....by Terry Beatty

I would not be a Wild Dog fan if I did not point everyone to this link....

http://terrybeatty.blogspot.com/2009/06/secret-origins-of-wild-dog.html

many of Wild Dog's Rabid fans have been asking Terry a lot of questions about the creation of Wild Dog and what Max Collins and Terry had to do to bring the original idea into the comic book medium...

Can you believe because of this GI Joe character, we might have had a different name for our favorite Wild Dog!

Watchmen Movie Review

I will watch the Watchmen! I will watch it again! I will look forward to the director's cut and the DVD! This was a great movie!
First off, any parent that takes there kid to this movie should be arrested! This movie is R for a good reason! Rape, nudity, and very intense violence just to name a few...
They movie was a wonderful rendition of the comic book. I read a review that blasted the movie for not having imagination, and that Snyder was not a very "visionary" director because this movie did not have any vision...well, duh! The comic was so good and in depth that there was no reason to change many things. Each character played their parts tremendously, they were exactly how I thought of them in the comic. I will give the tip of the hat to Nite Owl, he did a great job!
As many of you heard the ending of the movie was changed significantly from the comic, and I would have to I liked it a little better, it was hard for me to wrap my head around at first but after letting it sink in, I like it, it makes sense! Sorry for all of you looking for a giant transdimensional squid monster materializing over New York! (probably better for the general public).
A few minor concerns, that I hope will be fixed on the DVD with the extra scenes...I wanted to see the death of Nite Owl I...the scenes where Dr. Manhattan changed his mind about humanity and Silk Spectre II's big reveal and Ozymandias' final plan seemed rushed and needed to be explained a little further I thought...I got it because I had just reread the comic before the movie, but I think some of the general public may not have got those scenes entirely flushed out...
Another thing to keep in mind if you are going to see the movie is that it is not an all-out action movie, it does have some great fight scenes but there is a lot of talking, but it is good talking so it was not bad.
A lot of critics are making a big deal of the time, but I really did not feel like I was there for 3 hours, and I even went at midnight!
Great movie, just again remember to leave the kids at home for this one!!

Punisher War Zone Movie Review

I have to write about this movie and get it off of my chest!! What the heck was that?? I honestly felt like I was taken through at time warp and landed back in 1985!! I have not seen such a horrible, bloody, and silly gore fest since Robocop, but I actually liked Robocop! That movie had a plot! This movie did not...
The movie started out ok, with the Punisher movie through a mob house killing everyone that moved, but then once he got onto the flying trapeze (a chandalier) I started to groan a lot. I am really glad that Ray Stevenson did not talk much in the movie, because it was a horribly written movie, it reminded me of stories I wrote in seventh grade about the made up super-heroes that I had created.
There was no character development at all, it seemed like if you did not know anything about the Punisher comics then you would have no idea who Soap and Microchip were, and by the way who the heck was the Carlos, Latin King character? Obviously, he was just some cannon fodder for Jigsaw. The character development was so bad that in the final scene of the movie, I did not even care who got shot, because I did not care about any of them.
I was happy that the movie actually had one of Punisher's rogue villians, but can some one please explain to me the wardrobe choice that Jigsaw made in the final scene, talk about 1985, Members Only!!
The only good thing about this movie was the portrayal of Martin Soap by Dash Mihok.

He was very much like the character in the comic book, I just wish they paired him up with his partner from the comic...Molly Von Richthofen, and they should have fought Ma Gnucci!! That would have been nice!
I am dissappointed in the way that the Marvel Comic Movies ended this year, but I have the Spirit to see before the end of the year so hopefully that will restore my faith in comic book films.
Let me just say that if I was to watch another Punisher movie this year, this would be it....

And I would enjoy it much, much more than Punisher War Zone...do youself a favor and stay home for this one!!
